MISSION

The mission of the Education Committee of the AFS Detroit-Windsor Chapter is to facilitate the education process in order to enhance member skills and effectiveness with continuing education from AFS/CMI, foster active AFS student chapters at local colleges and universities, sponsor Foundry Education Foundation scholarships, encourage high school students to enter the metal casting field and related engineering careers all for the ultimate benefit of AFS members, the industry, suppliers, customers and society.

 

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

The Education Committee's primary goal is to provide educational opportunities to it's target groups, including the AFS Detroit-Windsor membership, the metal casting industry, local colleges, universities and high schools within our communities. The educational opportunities will include AFS/CMI courses, knowledge and leadership in advancing technology, experiences of skilled professionals in our industry, integration of metal casting technology into the casting design and manufacturing engineering process  The Education Committee intends to become a strength of the AFS Detroit-Windsor Chapter and a leading example of committee membership involvement and participation.
