BIOGRAPHY OF DAN MINOR
2008-2011 Director
Dan Minor is an equity partner in Cadillac Casting, Automation, Testing & Design (ATD) and 3Point Machine. He is also an owner of several other non manufacturing diversified businesses. He serves as President and CEO for each of the manufacturing entities.
Dan began his career in the foundry industry as a high school co-op student. He worked in every area of the foundry throughout high school and college. He was later given various assignments at many CMI International locations throughout North America. In 1990 he was promoted to the Plant Manager position at the three locations of CMI equipment facilities. In 1999 CMI was purchased by Hayes Lemmerz International and Dan was in charge of the equipment and technical services group of companies and served as a “trouble-shooter” for Hayes vast manufacturing facilities.
In June 2005 Dan led an investment group to purchase ATD, then called CMI Equipment and Engineering, Inc. in Au Gres, Michigan. ATD designs and builds automated equipment and systems for every type of metal casting process, special machines, and is a provider of a proprietary recycled rubber and plastics products.
In December 2005 the group purchased the CMI/ Hayes Lemmerz Ductile iron business in Cadillac, Michigan and renamed the company Cadillac Casting, Inc. CCI is a high volume producer of safety critical and Powertrain and other cast components.
In October 2006 the company purchased the precision machining facility also a former CMI and Hayes facility and named that company 3Point Machine, Inc. This division also machines safety critical components as well as Powertrain and other cast and forged products. 3PMI has been recognized as a leader in delivery and quality maintaining the lowest PPM scores with Ford Motor Co. and Robert Bosch, among others.
Dan is an inventor/co-inventor of 26 patents involving metal casting products, methods and processes.
Dan is a Past Chairman and Board of Director of the Saginaw Valley American Foundry Society, AFS 10E committee, Government Affairs 12-D committee, and AFS Midwest Regional committee, and serves as a Board of Director for the Detroit Windsor AFS and for the Foundry Association of Michigan.
