BIOGRAPHY OF MARY BETH MIZZI-KRYSIAK

Mary Beth Mizzi-Krysiak holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry (Magna Cum Laude) and an Associate of Science in Chemical Technology (Summa Cum Laude). Mary Beth is a leader, with 24 years of experience, specializing in the field of foundry sand control technology.
Mary Beth's past experience includes 18 years with DISA Industries, Inc. (formerly George Fischer and the Harry W. Dietert Co.) where she held the position of Technical Director of the Dietert sand laboratory and Business Manager for the sand testing equipment line sold internationally. She is credited with the development of several test instruments including the Dietert Ammoniacal Nitrogen Tester for use on molding sand, and the Soluble and Leachable Calcium and Magnesium Tester for testing incoming bentonites and preblends. She wrote and produced five training videos on sand testing for the Dietert Division of DISA Industries, Inc.
Mary Beth is currently manager of Sand Technology Co. LLC and is a member of 7 AFS National Technical Committees of the Molding Methods and Materials Division of the American Foundry Society. She is a past Chairman of the AFS Detroit Chapter, an AFS Cast Metals Institute (CMI) instructor, and a frequent speaker, both nationally and internationally. She has authored over 40 technical papers and articles published in Modern Casting Magazine, the AFS Transactions, and the Foundry Management and Technology Magazine. She is the recipient of two AFS Awards for Best Paper, the 1991 AFS National Award of Scientific Merit, and the 2003 AFS National CMI Director's Award.
