BIOGRAPHY OF JOHN BURFORD

2005-2008 Director

 


John Burford has held several engineering positions since earning his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1979 from the University of Windsor. After graduation he helped launch the GM Transmission plant in Windsor and then moved into the tool and die industry in 1983, first with Venture Tool then Arvid Productivity Systems/Arvid Machine Tool until 1989/90 when he completed his Bachelors in Education degree. John began his Ford career at Essex Engine Plant as a manufacturing engineer in 1990, however shortly after moved into the world of metal casting when he joined the team that was to launch the Windsor Aluminum Plant (WAP). Spending time in Dearborn and Windsor John designed and built the melting & casting facilities at Windsor in 1990 and since that time has moved into Process Engineering where he is currently the Lead Process Engineer.

In 2005 John earned a Masters degree in Materials Science and Engineering (University of Windsor) while remaining employed full time at WAP.

John lives in Windsor with his wife Pam and three children.
